The Mother of Mercy Babies Home is a childcare institution of the Catholic Diocese of Navrongo-Bolgatanga, located in Sirigu in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region of Ghana. Established as a place of refuge and hope, the Home provides temporary care and protection for vulnerable children from birth to three years of age, including orphans, abandoned babies, and children whose mothers are unable to care for them due to mental illness, severe hardship, or other challenging circumstances.
The Home offers a safe and loving environment where children receive quality care, nutrition, healthcare, and early childhood support while efforts are made to reunite them with their families where possible or transition them to long-term care. Since its establishment, the Mother of Mercy Babies Home has cared for more than 350 children, with many successfully transitioning to the Centre for Child Development, another child care institution under the Catholic Diocese.
The Home's work is made possible through the generous support of the Catholic Church, development partners, charitable organizations, and individual donors who share a commitment to protecting vulnerable children and giving them a healthy, hopeful start in life. Through compassion, dignity, and dedicated care, the Mother of Mercy Babies Home continues to transform lives by ensuring that every child entrusted to its care has the opportunity to survive, grow, and thrive.
